Overview and Responsibilities

This position is responsible for providing analytical support for the Business Intelligence Group and Senior Management. The employee will aid in monitoring and assessing business operations while collaborating with management and other internal departments to ensure that end user reports are accurate, meaningful and appropriate.  The Analyst will prepare ad hoc custom reports, queries and data extracts as requested and will manage small to medium-sized projects as needed. Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:

  • Performs structured analysis of all necessary Business Intelligence Group reports and provides timely feedback to aid end users in identifying performance outliers, including consistent and/or recent negative trends as well as positive trends.
  • Identifies key business processes, performs evaluations of risk, assesses effectiveness of controls, and promotes continuous improvement across the organization
  • Collaborates with management for existing report revisions and new report development and implementation, including training for internal staff as necessary and acting as a resource and problem solver for end user report acceptance, utilization and interpretation.
  • Collaborates with management and other internal departments to develop ideal report specifications and functional requirements for all existing, revised and new BIG reports.
  • Responds to internal requests for custom reports, queries, data extracts or ad hoc reports in a timely manner. Independently conducts research as needed to provide appropriate response.
  • Coordinates with other analysts and developers to design and develop automated business systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business or Statistics related field. Master’s degree in related field consider a plus.
  • Extensive experience in Microsoft Office Programs, specifically Excel and Access.
  • Extreme attention to detail and understanding of cause and effect.
  • Superior organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Exhibit analytical skills necessary to successfully perform the responsibilities listed above.
  • Strong problem solving abilities.
  • Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal skills, including ability to interpret and explain data for a variety of audiences
  • Proven ability to work independently or in a collaborative team environment.

Reporting specific interests and disciplines - A successful candidate will have a familiarity OR a strong passion for the following specific disciplines:

  • Pivot tables
  • VBA (Visual Basic for Applications)
  • Queries, Macros, Modules and Forms
  • Presentation quality charts, graphs and data analysis exhibits
  • SQL, SSRS, and Power Pivot experience is considered a plus

Incumbent into this position must pass the following pre-employment screenings before being considered for this position:
