  • Overview and Responsibilities

    The Customer Solutions Specialist position is located in our Corporate Office in Baton Rouge, LA. This position will work directly with customers to resolve concerns, issues or disputes they may have regarding their account. This is a crucial role in helping us to fullfill our core value of providing excelllent customer service and understanding our customers needs and valuing our relationship with them. Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) are desired but not required. Job responsibilities are as follows:

     

    • Troubleshoot and communicate directly with consumers by telephone or in writing regarding concerns, questions, issues and/or disputes they may have regarding their Republic account and possible resolutions
    • Respond timely, professionally, courteously and consistently to consumer complaints, disputes, concerns, and questions
    • Communicate and work directly with Republic Finance’s Branch team members, Operations leadership, Internal Audit and/or Support departments to address consumer complaints, concerns, questions, and/or disputes
    • Draft written responses to letters Republic Finance receives from consumers regarding a variety of topics, including, but not limited to, certain information consumers may be entitled to related to their Republic Finance account pursuant to federal and/or state laws and regulations
    • Assist Senior Customer Solutions Specialist with managing Republic Finance’s consumer complaints database
    • Assist Senior Customer Solutions Specialist with identifying trends in consumer complaints and reporting findings to Compliance Department Manager
    • Assist with special projects as needed

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a field related to banking, finance, law, or internal audit; OR 3-5 years of branch customer service experience in a related field
    • Must be deadline-oriented, highly organized and detail-oriented
    • Must have initiative and the ability to think independently
    • Excellent writing skills
    • Familiar with financial privacy laws and regulations
    • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities
    • Ability to communicate professionally, effectively, and courteously with anyone;
    • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
    • Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) are desired but not required
